Algis Budrys, that giant of science fiction and fantasy storytelling, sadly passed away on the 7th of June. Known to the world as an avid science fiction writer, editor and critic, Algis Budrys
was born in 1931 and throughout his life notched up many significant works. His career began in 1952 with fiction appearing in Astounding Science Fiction and Galaxy magazine, including the Hugo nominated story ‘The Edge of the Sea’ from 1958. The novels of Algis Budrys
include False Night, Some Will Not Die, Who?, The Falling Torch, and Rogue Moon amongst others. His many editing credits include a lengthy stint editing the legendary Writers of the Future anthologies. His stories and work will live on for generations to come.
