Now it will be very often agreed by lots of gamers and critics together that
Bioshock is an example of one of the best First Person Shooters to be developed in the past
10 years. It boasts a standard critic rating of 96% at Metacritic.com, and some
communities even describe the title as a work of art. Bioshock's storyline is in
myriad ways based on and galvanized by the top selling novel "Atlas Shrugged",
and centres round the geopolitical situations occurring in an oceanic
Atlantis-like metropolis named Rapture.
In a deviation from the first
title, the Bioshock 2 game will put gamers in control of the slow and lumbering
Big Daddy. As gamers of the first game will understand, Rapture was set up with
the idea of founding a culture freed from capitalistic government laws and
religious moralities, but naturally, it then went significantly pear-shaped. As
Bioshock hero Jack exposed mutated and disgusting creatures named Splicers were
at large in the area, roaming and slaughtering at will. These monsters were
actually all that was remaining of the society.
During the Bioshock 2
game, Big Daddy has the dangerous task of returning to Rapture, looking into a
sequence of abductions. It seems that the multitude of Little Sisters that
succeeded in making it to the surface in the first game are being thieved away
and returned to the shadows of Rapture, and it's up to Big Daddy to put things
right.
The Bioshock 2 game follows the foundations and idiosyncrasies of
the first, with some important twists on the gaming. Graphical augmentations are
also there, with the game functioning a lot more smoothlysmoother, allowing for
a clear demonstration of graphics. This contributes to the feeling of a great
game, and developers 2K have pulled it off with merit.
Of course being in
charge of a robot does bring varied gaming benefits, he is able to combine a
number of guns and drills in one hand, while using the arcane 'plasmid' with the
other. Plasmid is employed to make e;ectricity, fire and also to control things
using telekinesis. The abilities are improved duringthe game and levelled up as
you progress forwards.
Plenty of time and attention has been applied in
the Bioshock 2 game. There are some updated areas in Rapture, it's now possible
to investigate the ocean floor and research the systems around the domain of the
city. A complaint with the first was that the array of creatures was somehat
limited and repeated, and this has been nicely fixed in the follow up with a
range of interesting nasties. Watch out for Big Sister, who tracks your progress
and will attempt to impede you at various parts. 2K Games are hoping for a
release this Fall, and for many devotees of the first, the Bioshock 2 game is
set for release simultaneously on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft
Windows platforms and cannot come soon enough for their fans.
